How to install vivo firmware (local upgrade)
vivo publishes full firmware packages that install from the phone. This doesn’t erase your data, but you can’t go back to an older version on Android 8 and newer.
Before you start
- Use the package for your exact model. The product code at the start of the version (for example PD2102F) must match your phone.
- These packages are for phones sold on the open market, not carrier-locked phones.
- Charge above 30% (50% is safer) and back up contacts, messages and photos.
Steps
- Copy the .zip to the top level of the phone storage — not inside a folder. Don’t unzip it.
- On the phone open Settings → System update, tap the settings (gear) icon at the top right and choose Local upgrade (on some versions: Install local update).
- Select the package and tap Install.
Phone that won’t start
- Turn it off. Hold Volume Up + Power until FASTBOOT mode appears.
- With the volume keys choose Recovery mode, press Power.
- Choose Install software → Phone memory (or SD card), select the package and confirm.
If something goes wrong
- “Version is lower than current”: vivo blocks downgrades. Choose a newer package.
- The package isn’t listed: it must be in the top level of storage with the original file name.
