How to install a REDMAGIC ROM

Before you start

• Use the ROM for your exact model and region. The model code (for example NX789J) is in the file path and in Settings → About phone.
• Charge above 50% and back up your data. Moving between regions (for example from the China ROM to the global ROM) erases the phone.

Steps

1. Download the file and keep its name update.zip. Don't unzip it.
2. Copy it to the top level of the phone's internal storage — not inside a folder.
3. On the phone open Settings → System update, tap the menu (⋮) and choose Local update (on some versions: Update from storage). Select the file and confirm.
4. The phone checks the file, installs it and restarts.

Phone that won't start

1. Turn it off, then hold Volume Up + Power until the recovery menu appears.
2. Choose Update from internal storage (or Apply update) and select update.zip. Use the volume keys to move and Power to confirm.

If something goes wrong

• “Package verification failed”: the file is for another model or incomplete. Download it again.
• The option to update locally is missing: use the recovery method above.
